Founded over five decades ago, Neale Consulting Engineers is a name that has its roots in the earliest days of tribology as a scientific discipline - an integral part of engineering and mechanical failure. The expertise of the Neale Consulting team was needed in sectors as varied as marine, power generation, wind energy, oil and gas, petrochemicals, manufacturing, rail, aviation and more. 

Members of the Neale Consulting team authored a wealth of publications including The Tribology Handbook, A Tribology Casebook, and Condition Monitoring of Machinery. 

All this expertise and experience culminated in Neale Consulting being acquired by the global Brookes Bell group in 2023.

Since then, Neale Consulting Engineers has added metallurgy, materials science, NDT and more to its tribological roots, providing services including; failure analysis and expert witness support. These services have been provided to businesses large and small, allowing them to open up the significant time and cost savings that are to be gained from the application of mechanical engineering principles. 

Due to that heritage, in some engineering circles, the terms Neale Consulting Engineers and tribology have almost become synonymous.
